Fan's Graphic Adulation of Ron Jeremy Leads to FCC Fine
By: Scott Ross
03-13-2004
WASHINGTON and HOLLYWOOD - On Friday, as porn icon Ron Jeremy celebrated his 51st birthday, his fiftieth comes back to haunt Clear Channel Communications to the tune of $247,500 after the FCC announced they planned on fining the radio behometh for indecency violations committed during the celebration of Jeremy’s 50th birthday on a show broadcast live on three radio stations owned by Clear Channel.
During a segment called "Dianne's Dirt of the Day" on the Elliot in the Morning radio program that aired on March 13, 2003, the show decided to replay a previous interview of a Ron Jeremy fan.
During the segment a female caller said she masturbated frequently Jeremy and noted that she wanted to do a three-way with him, because she liked "the way he licks pussy,” and desired to see if "I can lick better or he can lick better."
The offending segment, as transcribed in the FCC Notice of Apparrent Liability for Forfeiture (NALF), went as follows:
Diane’s Voice: Finally porn legend Ron Jeremy is hitting the half century mark.
Elliot’s Voice: Oh, Happy Birthday Ron.
Diane’s Voice: 50 years old today. Despite turning 50, Ron Jeremy says he’s still going strong in the sack and continues to film sex scenes without needing Viagra. He credits his good health to avoiding drugs for all these years. And I figured what a better time than now to play Craig’s interview with one Ron Jeremy fan.
Female Voice: I masturbate with Jeremy’s video every day. Uh, not every day, but every other weekend.
Craig’s Voice: Wow. What is it that you like about him so much?
Female Voice: The way he licks pussy. I want to do a threesome with him. See who’s the best. If I can lick better or he can lick better.
Diane’s Voice: She is a looker.
Elliot’s Voice: Hot. Got a great dental plan in her office.
The segment was then replayed twice on the same three radio stations, all owned by Clear Channel, leading to the nine violations.
Clear Channel's argument that the five words "(t)he way he licks pussy" were not patently offensive were brushed off by an incredulous FCC.
Discussing the offending phrase and Clear Channel's argument that "(t)he way he licks pussy" is not patently offensive, the NALF reads, "Clear Channel ignores the full context of these words -- the discussion of a 'porn legend' not needing Viagra at age 50 to perform in sex scenes; a female fan’s masturbation practices involving the adult film actor’s videos; and the fan’s desire to have a group sex with the actor to determine who can perform better oral sex."
The FCC recommended that Clear Channel be charged $27,500, the current maximum fine per utterance, for each of the nine violations. The total fine was $247,500.
Earlier this week the House of Representatives passed the Broadcast Indecency Enforcement Act, a bill that if signed into law will increase FCC fines to $500,000 per violation. Under that version of the bill, Clear Channel would have to pay over $4 million for that same offense.A similar bill will be voted on in the Senate next week.
There was one dissenter on the commission, Michael Copps, who argued that Clear Channel should have their licenses taken away for the stations involved, instead of simply paying a fine.
Just last month, the FCC proposed that Clear Channel pay a $755,000 for airing the controversial "Bubba the Love Sponge" show in Florida. The disc jockey of that show was fired by Clear Channel, who agreed to pay the fine.
Clear Channel and Infinity Broadcasting, the largest radio chains in the country, account for 80 percent of all indecency violations.
A call to Jeremy by AVN.com was not returned as we went to press.
For his part, Jeremy is still active in adult, representing both Metro Interactive and Las Vegas Novelties. Tonight he can be seen on America's Most Wanted - appearing as an "expert witness," in a missing person's case.

By: Ken Knox
02-19-2004
SAN FRANCISCO - Popular gay adult video star Chris Steele has been tapped for the Director of Production position at Falcon Studios. He follows industry legends John Rutherford and Steven Scarborough in this high visibility assignment. Steele, who has been working with the Falcon production department for several years, will oversee all aspects of video production, including casting and script development, and will work with directors on concepts and the execution of each release for all the Falcon lines.
"I'm very privileged to be working in such a very important position with what I consider to be the top studio in the gay adult industry," Steele told AVN.com in an exclusive interview Thursday. "I'm looking forward to continuing the Falcon legacy of producing quality movies and videos. And while I've been working with this studio for many years, I'm excited to be moving up to this position."
Steele began his XXX career in late 1998 as an exclusive for Studio 2000, and has since appeared in numerous releases for a wide array of studios, including All Worlds Video, Massive Studio, and Rascal Video. His directorial debut was the 2000 GAYVN-nominated Steele Pole. He has since fashioned a side career as a prolific screenwriter. His scripts include Rascal's Below the Rim, Detention, and A Man's Tail. His most recent work in front of the camera for Falcon Studios includes Aftershock 1-2.
Of Steele's appointment, Falcon President and CFO Terry Mahaffey told AVN.com, "My initial impression of Chris was formed four years ago during the filming of Shock. I was pleased to see how his easygoing style and comfort in leading people made such a difference to that set. It's been truly wonderful to watch Chris continue to grow in his behind-the-lens endeavors these past few years. I have the utmost confidence that his poise, professionalism, and can-do attitude will be a great asset to Falcon, and that Chris will soon be recognized as one ofâif not theâindustry's best production directors."

Falcon Signs Jason Adonis as Lifetime Exclusive
By: Ken Knox
02-12-2004
SAN FRANCISCO - Ending speculation that Jason Adonis would be leaving the gay-adult business, Falcon Studios announced today that they had signed the popular model to a Lifetime Exclusive contract. Along with Tom Chase and Matthew Rush, Adonis is only the third Falcon model to receive such a contract.
Falcon Studios' newest
Lifetime Exclusive
"I'm really excited to have him be a part of our family," said Falcon Director of Development Michael Youens, who added, "Adonis is a classic porn star along the lines of a Ken Ryker or Hal Rockland. I worked really hard to get him in our stable."
There was talk of a contract after an appearance Adonis made on Falcon TV last December, but the lifetime deal was cinched after he starred in the recently completed Born To Be Bad. His first film as a lifetime exclusive will be the Chi Chi LaRue-directed sequel to the 1986 Falcon classic Night Flight. In a press release issued by Falcon, LaRue gushed over Adonis' good looks, saying, "Jason has a face that's so beautiful it made a seasoned pro like me go weak in the knees."
Reached by phone on Thursday, the 6-3, 24-year-old top told AVN.com, "I couldn't be happier. Falcon takes care of their models really well. They're treating me very well." In gay-XXX since 2000, Adonis' previous movies are Warehouse of Sex, Mirage, Man of the Year, and The Hole, as well as the upcoming American Porn Star.
Adonis said the prospect of "long-term employment" was favorable to "doing a video here or a video there," and added that Falcon is the perfect studio to "settle down" with. "I like the fact that their stuff is so classy. They don't just shoot it in some low-rent hotel room. Everything is top-class with them. It's going to be really exciting working with them."
